Condition Guidelines
We use the following conditions as guides when labeling our cards for condition prior to listing them on the site:
Please note: We will never label any card as "Mint" or "Mint Condition". The highest grade we recognize is Near Mint or Better as outlined below.
Near Mint or Better (NM):
Cards display minimal or no wear or damage. They appear "fresh out of the pack." Other minor chipping, indentation, or scratches, the card shows no moderate or major signs of damage. These cards may be "never played" cards or cards that have been played with sleeves.
-Corners: Minor Chipping
-Discoloration: None
-Surface Indentations: Minor
-Staining: None
-Edges: Minor Chipping
-Creases: None
-Scratches/Scuffing/Surface Wear: Minor
Lightly Played/Excellent (LP):
Cards in Lightly Played condition can have moderate chipping, indentation, or scratches. Lightly Played cards do not look heavily tampered with and are legal for play in a sleeved deck.
-Corners: Moderate whitening/chipping
-Discoloration: Minor
-Surface Indentations: Moderate
-Staining: Minor
-Edges: Moderate whitening/chipping
-Creases: Minor
-Scratches/Scuffing/Surface Wear: Moderate
Moderately Played/ Very Good (MP/VG):
Cards in Moderately Played consition have discernible flaws such as major chipping around the edges and corners. They have moderate discoloration, indentation, creases, scratches, or stains. However, there is no liquid damage on Moderately Played Cards.
-Corners: Major whitening/chipping
-Discoloration: Moderate
-Surface Indentations: Moderate to Major
-Staining: Moderate to Major
-Edges: Major whitening/chipping
-Creases: Moderate
-Scratches/Scuffing/Surface Wear: Moderate to major, slight paper loss
Heavily Played/ Poor/ Damaged (HP/P/D):
Heavily played cards show a massive amount of wear and damage. Corners and edges will be rounded, chipped, or fuzzy, and there will be major discoloration, layering, notching, creasing, and scratches. Heavily Played cards can have less than 30% liquid damage.
-Corners: Major whitening/chipping with one or more corners missing
-Discoloration: Major
-Surface Indentations: Major
-Staining: Major
-Edges: Major whitening/chipping with tears possible
-Creases: Multiple major creases
-Scratches/Scuffing/Surface Wear: Major scratches/scuffing, tears, paper loss, and pinholes
